I think there's a lot of "Fooled by Randomness" going on all around, and the only common denominator is Spectacle.

Attributing anything other than selfish interest to anyone involved is antithetical to all American economics. The business of it all is being driven by a system of sucking the life out of everything and either blowing it up or dumping it in a landfill.

The banking failures are simply emergent phenomena of a suicidal system (Competitive Extraction).

With or without any of the actors in particular, the play is the same because it's a play.

In the minds of Dems, Never-Trumpers and Uniparty noodges an arrest may appear to be a no lose proposition. I don't believe these people think Trump can win no matter what, so they'd love to see him on the ballot in 2024. They'd also love to see him crowd out DeSantis who in my view is a bigger threat to win in 2024 than is DJT. Finally, if elements of the Trump base see fit to riot for real this time, then as you point out, they'll waste no time to declare an emergency and establish total control.

Risky? You bet. 'in the interests of the American people? Not even close. But these people have shown that they're in it for themselves and their hangers-on and don't give a hoot in Hell for anyone else while treating the US Constitution as a speed bump on their way to power. May they gag on fire and brimstone for eternity.

After reading this I immediately thought of this scene (https://youtu.be/8kpHK4YIwY4). Imagine Trump as Obi Wan and Vader as TPTB. Elon is right. The harder they go at Trump, the stronger he will become. Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams, before he cancelled himself, said prior to the 2016 election that Trump was playing 4D chess and TPTB were playing checkers. The latest round of Twitter Files released by Matt Taibbi reveals even more the degree that social media has been co-opted by TPTB to wage war on the citizens of this country.
