He was never meant to be anything other than a placeholder anyway, in my view, so the move to oust him will slowly gain steam over the next year or two.

It's a risky move for the Democrats, as Kamala Harris has not demonstrated much in the way of presidential abilities, and if she resigns or is impeached, then Kevin McCarthy comes in. That may be why he fought so hard to get Speaker, as the word of the plan may have already spread.
Occasionally Biden may fool himself into believing he's President but I believe he knows, and we certainly should know by now, that he isn't. The real Presidency knows he needs to go before the real Presidency gets snookered.
